An apostille or a translation is only as good as the document underneath it. Authorities abroad often want a recently issued certificate, a specific format or an original certified copy rather than a photocopy. Ordering the right document from the right office is where many applications lose weeks.
We obtain certified copies of birth, marriage, civil partnership and death certificates from the General Register Office for England and Wales, National Records of Scotland and the General Register Office for Northern Ireland, and company certificates and filings from Companies House. We can also advise on criminal record certificates and university documents and prepare them for legalisation.
Through our international network, we also retrieve civil status records, extracts and company documents from other countries, for example from France, Poland and other European countries, then translate and certify them for use in the UK.

Frequently asked questions
What information do you need to order a certificate?
The full name, date and place of the event and, for marriages, both names. A GRO index reference or a copy of an old certificate speeds things up but is not essential.
Can you get a document from my home country?
In many cases yes. Our international network retrieves civil status records and company documents in several countries. Tell us the country and the document and we will confirm what is possible.
Can the certificate be apostilled and translated in the same order?
Yes. That is the most common request: we obtain the certificate, have it apostilled and deliver it with a certified or sworn translation.
